Cajun King Seafood Boil

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs  Shrimp, Crabs or Crawfish
  • 3 6 oz  Cajun King's Seafood Boil Blend
  • 1 cup  salt
  • 1   As Desired: New Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Onions, Celery, Garlic and Halved Lemons

Directions

  1. Crabs: 20-30 minutes
  2. Crawfish: 20-30 minutes
  3. In a container other than boiling pot, place seafood, adding chilled water.
  4. Measure water, placing in boiling pot.
  5. Heat to a simmer, then add seafood boil mix, stirring until dissloved using the ratio of 1 bottle mix per gallon of water.
  6. As desired add small potatoes, corn on the cob, onions, celery, garlic and halved lemons to mixture.
  7. Return to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Drain chilled water from seafood; add seafood to simmering solution.
  9. Return solution to a rolling boil; time for 3 minutes.
  10. Remove or turn off heat, adding 1 cup salt per gallon of liquid.
  11. Stir to dissolve salt, then add several trays of ice to stop the cooking.
  12. Start timing soak.
  13. Correct soak times are as followed:
  14. Shrimp: 5-10 minutes
